The Marvels of Thai Yoga Bodywork

Thai yoga bodywork is such a wonderful adaptable module. I can work as light or as deep depending on how much pressure my client can take. And because it’s performed on a mattress on the floor, I can use my body weight. I can work using light touch just with my hands or use my whole body weight so that I can reach the deeper layers of the muscle tissue. Using not just my hands but also my arms and feet, allows me to apply more pressure. Quite often there’s a need to work deeper especially if your muscles are strong.

Thai yoga bodywork can have an effect on your body on so many levels.

It can help in:

💆‍♀️ Relieving tension headaches

💆‍♀️ Reducing muscle pain and as well as joint stiffness

💆‍♀️ Increasing range of movement and flexibility

💆‍♀️ Stimulating blood circulation

💆‍♀️ Boosting your energy

💆‍♀️ Calming your nervous system

Why it's important to be physically active and to have regular massage treatments.

Ever since I started working in massage therapy and bodywork, it has made me realise how important that we all have to look after our bodies. And that includes doing physical exercise on a regular basis. Both aerobic and weight-bearing exercises play their role in keeping our bodies strong and free of pain. To me, massage and bodywork therapies work hand in hand with physical exercise. Together, they can boost your energy, help you feel more relaxed and sleep better.

Physical activity builds stronger bones, muscles, and joints.

Massage therapy and bodywork help in preventing injury as well as provide an important role in the process of repair caused by damage to the muscles and joints.

That is why every Olympic and paralympic Israeli team has both a physical trainer and massage therapist on their staff. The teams know that these professionals provide vital support to ensure that every athlete is at their optimal performance at every sporting event they attend.

Backache? Legs sore? Muscles hurt?

Do you run? Or workout?

It’s definitely running season and I guess from the number of people out there in my local park, Gan Sacher, that because of the lockdown, there are a lot more people who have taken up the sport in the past year.

The problem with running is that very often people give it up because of injury caused by a variety of reasons – Achilles tendonitis, runner's knee, stress fracture, damage to the hamstrings, shin splints, and the one I have personally experienced – plantar fasciitis. You know you have plantar fasciitis when you take your first steps in the morning and you feel intense pain in your feet.

All these conditions can set you back weeks, months even years. I know. I’ve been there and I can sympathize.

But there are things you can do that help to prevent injuries and one of them is Thai yoga bodywork. Originally developed in India, this treatment has been around for over 2,500 years. It can have a positive effect on your health, in general, and more specifically, can help to improve your running performance.
